The label Billion Dollar Babes was launched in October 1994 it was a success from day one, in the first year Billion Dollar Babes was chosen to participate in the famous Mercedes Australian Fashion Week. After three years with MAFW, designer Michelle decided to break away from the pack and produce her own individual fashion shows. Michelle's first self runway show was so successful that she was invited to London to show case her range as part of London Fashion Week showing at the Metropolitan Hotel along with the likes of Alice Temperley and Preen. Orders soon came flooding in and Billion Dollar Babes began to be stocked in several London boutiques including The Cross and Selfridges. British Vouge also became interested in her exciting approach to design and featured her clothing in their magazine's Millennium issue on Marie Helvin shot by Nick Knight.

Since the successful launch of Billion Dollar Babes the label has been featured in magazines such as Paper, Surface ,I.D Magazine, British Vogue, Australian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Madison, Grazia, Cleo, Cosmopolitan, Oyster, Yen and Australian Style. Billion Dollar Babes is stocked in several stores all over Australian and the U.K and has a strong reputation as one of Australia's leading fashion labels.

Through great press coverage, a loyal following and Michelle Cooke's fresh approach to design Billion Dollar Babes has created a distinctive signature style that continues to make its mark on the Australian fashion industry and raise the bar in innovation and style.
